Personal and professional correspondence dealing with his research into early exploration of Australia, the establishment of C.L.F. lectures in University of Queensland, the development of the Fryer Memorial Library (which he founded) the Oxley Memorial Library and Queensland National Art Gallery on whose boards he served for many years, and a number of local cultural associations especially those concerned with theatre and literature. Scripts of university and public lectures, and radio broadcast talks; ms. notes of unpublished work; papers relating to his history of Canberra. Correspondents include many wellknown writers and academics. Papers relating to the planning of the present site of the University of Queensland, and other University matters, are stores with other historical University records. Papers relating to his Duntroon period have been returned to the Royal Military College, except for some personal correspondence.
